Kristen Stewart, the star of Los Angeles show business. The path from hatred to Oscar nomination

For many, Kristen Stewart is still the star of Twilight. However, that’s not her only role. A native of Los Angeles, she is one of the highest-paid American actresses.  More about her life and development, hurdles and success in show business will be revealed by los-angeles.pro.

Childhood in Los Angeles

Kristen Stewart was born in Los Angeles on April 9, 1990, into a family that worked in the entertainment industry. Her father is a director, producer and stage manager, while her mother is a screenplay supervisor, so it stands to reason why Kristen Stewart chose the path to conquer Hollywood. Her parents used to get home late, which was a vivid example of how difficult and exhausting the work in this industry is.

Kristen’s parents subsequently got divorced. She grew up in Woodland Hills, a suburb of Los Angeles located in the San Fernando Valley.

The girl went to local schools till the 7th grade. As her interest in acting grew, she maintained her studies in distance education until she graduated from high school. In elementary school, young Stewart performed at a Christmas party and that’s when she was spotted by an agent. It became a watershed moment since what followed was the first filming at the age of eight.

She had tried commercial shootings before then, but they didn’t appear natural.

Her first roles

All roles are unique for an actor, not to mention their initial attempts to  prove themselves:

The first film Stewart acted in was The Thirteenth Year, where Kristen got a non-speaking role.

Then, she played in The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas.

The next was the independent film The Safety of Objects.

Then came the thriller Panic Room, released in 2002. The young actress played the role of the daughter of a divorced woman who also suffered from diabetes. This film was so successful that the actress was nominated for a Young Artist Award.

At age 14, Stewart was selected to star in the family comedy film Catch That Kid.

There were also the films Undertow and Speak (based on the novel of the same name by Laurie Halse Anderson).

The Twilight Saga

The well known film was released in 2007, in which Kristen Stewart played the role of Bella Swan. Some fans admired her main character, while others hated her. Did you know that Stewart was the first person cast for the project? Even more, she protected her future partners (Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner) in every possible way. Subsequently, it was they who played Edward Cullen and Jacob Black.

Here are some more fascinating facts about Kristen Stewart in the Twilight:

  1. The young actress was not at first struck by the script of the saga. Despite that, she still familiarized herself with the plot, with something she did like, such as Bella and Edward’s tumultuous dynamic. Stuart’s perspective on film has changed after reading the books by Stephenie Meyer.
  2. During her first interviews, Kristen Stuart was embarrassed to admit that she loved the books on which Twilight was based.
  3. The actress recalls always defending her character, Bella. She thought her character and, correspondingly, the role she played were fantastic. Stewart has played the leading role in five films of the saga.
  4. Kristen started shooting in the acclaimed film at the age of 18. Since then, she has gotten an army of fans, although there has been some hating on her inarticulateness. Many memes with humorous captions appeared online. For instance, “Five movies, one facial expression”.
  5. The role of Bella Swan has earned the actress a fortune of 70 million dollars. The film has brought Kristen Stewart both fame and fortune, as it became a blockbuster.
  6. Kristen also worked on other projects while filming Twilight. These include films like Adventureland, The Runaways and Welcome to the Rileys.

New Challenges

After her role as Bella Swan, Kristen challenged herself to step out of her comfort zone. That is why she began experimenting and was not scared to portray various characters. Kristen joined the cast of the popular movie franchise Snow White and the Huntsman in 2012, where she co-starred with Chris Hemsworth, who played the hunter. This project brought her 9.5 million dollars. In 2019, Kristen played the leading role in Charlie’s Angels.

Such perseverance has borne fruit without emphasizing the audience’s negative comments. Kristen Stewart smashed records by making it into the list of highest-paid actresses.

Spencer

Kristen Stewart of Los Angeles shows by her own example that she is not a one-role actress. For instance, she starred in the film Spencer, featuring the role of Princess Diana.

Kristen had to put in a lot of effort to get into the role of Diana, one of the most documented women of her time. For instance, the actress spent four months training with a dialect coach.

Here are a few other things Kristen had to work on:

  • Studying photos and videos of Diana to portray the character as realistically as feasible.
  • Identifying and imitating Princess Diana’s features.

A true Californian to the bottom of her heart

Throughout her adult life, she has publicly dated women and has made no secret of her sexual orientation. So, her personal life provides plenty of fodder for rumor.

The actress was born and raised in Los Angeles and considers herself a true Californian to the bottom of her heart.

You can see the ‘L.A.’ tattoo even on Kristen’s arm. The way she talks and her jokes have a unique Californian touch to them. They are filled with slang, like ‘dudes’ and it’s even soothing in a way.

Playing golf in Griffith Park is one of her favorite leisure activities. Kristen learned to play the game as a youngster from her father.

Stewart also dabbles in the art of directing and several of her projects have already seen the light of day.
