The leader of the event is Barbara Davis, who leads it together with her daughter, Dana Davis. Barbara Davis and her husband Marvin founded the ball. Since then, he has owned the following giant companies: 20th Century Fox, the Pebble Beach Corporation, the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Aspen Skiing Company. After Marvin Davis joined his father&#8217;s oil business, he became known as Mr. Wildcatter. All his life, Marvin was involved in charity and political donations. He was especially interested in medical research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marvin Davis lived for 53 years with Barbara Levin (maiden name). They had five children. Their daughter, Dana Davis, has type 1 diabetes. She is an active philanthropist, just like her famous parents. She developed her own line of shoes due to foot problems related to diabetes. Products have become comfortable and stylish. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Children&#8217;s Diabetes Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on the life story of the Davis family, their friend Aaron Spelling created the Carrington family in the series Dynasty. After the examination, she was diagnosed with diabetes. Barbara called her husband who had never heard of this disease. Then, the important work of building the Barbara Davis Diabetes Center in Denver, which is supported by philanthropic events, began. One of them is the Carousel of Hope Ball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is worth noting that type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that attacks the beta cells of the pancreas that produce insulin (a hormone needed to regulate blood sugar). People with type 1 diabetes need to take insulin throughout their lives and monitor their health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Fundraising\"><\/span>Fundraising<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the existence of the Carousel of Hope Ball, it was possible to collect more than $110 million. The collected funds are directed to the search for cures for diabetes. The event, the publicity and the attention of famous stars helped to make a significant contribution to diabetes research, as well as to support patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fundraising takes place thanks to several directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sale of tickets for a charity ball.
